PURPOSE:
This data base was designed out of necessity. The information
contained is used by design electrical engineers and technicians
almost daily.Use this data base as a tool - not as a replacement
for the NEC manual!!
THE INFORMATION CONTAINED:
1. D.C. MOTORS
2. SINGLE PHASE MOTORS
3. THREE PHASE INDUCTION MOTORS
4. THREE PHASE WOUND ROTOR MOTORS
5. THREE PHASE SYNCHRONOUS MOTORS
The above data bases provide information as to full load
currents, motor over current protection rating, the size or
guage of the wire required to connect one motor of that
particular horsepower in a general purpose application, the
conduit trade size required to house the wire, the NEMA size
starter recommended, the amperage and the recommended fusing.
6.NEMA DATA
This data base is a listing of the NEMA code letters and their
related locked rotor KVA per horsepower, maximum rating or
setting of motor branch circuit protective devices,NEMA size
starters,Hazardous (classified) locations, and NEMA type
enclosures for starters.
7.MOTOR FRAME SIZES
Three phase frame sizes for open and totally enclosed, fan
cooled motors for general purpose are listed in a data base.
8.THREE PHASE CONDUCTORS AMPACITIES
This data base covers the wire guages #18 to 2000 MCM and
commonly used types of not more than three conductors in a
raceway etc.

9.SINGLE PHASE CONDUCTOR AMPACITIES
10.MAXIMUM CONDUCTORS IN CONDUIT
11.THREE PHASE TRANSFORMERS
This data base contains the full load currents for three
phase transformers at various line to line voltages.
12.RECOMMENDED COPPER WIRE AND TRANSFORMER SIZES
This data base provides the maximum recommened distances
between a motor and transformer .
13.FILE RECOVERY MENU
This is a submenu that provides a utility to recover those
lost data files.
---------------------------------------------------------------
All of the above data bases contain a note area for those
reminders that designers like to note. All notes in each data
base are saved in that data base and become a part of it.

HOW TO RUN THIS SOFTWARE
PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF EACH DISK BEFORE PROCEEDING!!!!!!!
First you must have a hard disk drive !
Secondly, you must be using DOS 3.0 or better.
Create a directory called MOTORS or whatever you choose.
Change to that directory.
Make the hard drive your default drive.
Insert each disk into drive A and type "COPY A:*.*".
After all of the disks have been loaded, type "run".
If this is the first time that you are running this program
you will have to run the program "yoursys.com" to configure
the software to your particular computer. After this is done,
type "run" one more time.
WHAT SHOWS UP ON YOUR SCREEN
The first screen is the data base menu. Make a selection and
see what you get! Press the "?" key for help. This will explain
the selection of functions available and what they do.
If an area is displayed that says "NOTES:", this is your area
to make entries. To enter a note press "A" for add. To edit a
note, press "E" for edit--very complicated! It may be necessary
to use the (+) key to select file #2 to make note entries in
some cases.
IF you select "D" and delete your note - TOO BAD - it's gone!!
